Naka-kon 2011

Last weekend was Naka-kon 2011! I've been attending this convention since 2006, it's grown so much since then, back when I was the only lolita there.

Getting ready friday morning. Sheila was brushing her vampire fangs, ahaha.

Alices and the pirate

This picture is weird, but it's the only full body shot of me this day.

There was a formal dance, we couldn't take it seriously.

On Saturday I wore my Marie Antoinette with a matching blue velveteen blazer and blue socks, but they always look so dark in pictures :\

I met my saviour

There was a group drawing thing which I was really excited for, but I got pulled away from it only after 3 minutes D:

Sunday was heretic day, my favorite day.

gave me her cosplay gun since I seem to have some sort of fascination with weaponry? I'm sort of like Rosette from Chrono Crusade in this picture.

An attempted photobomb, lol.

Renaissance Festival

Fact: I've never missed a Renaissance Festival since I was 6. Maaaaybe that just means that I was a nerd from the beginning, or maybe it's just related to my strange dragon love. The one in Kansas City is really good, but it's the only one i've ever been too and i'd like to experience others. I hear the Wichita one is really shitty so I guess I won't be bothering with that.
I usually go in full costume, but I couldn't seem to get it together this year :\

Tooth fairy! I had never seen her before an she was quite not matching the scenery, being pink an whatnot, but I thought she was fabulous. Look at her big smile! I wish she were my grandma.

Captain Jack and Barbosa! It was pirate weekend, so ignoring the time frames it was sort of fitting. Plus the popularity of those movies and yadda yadda. They were really good, i've seen some bad Jack Sparrows in my time...

Davy Jones! This was sooooo cool, look how good it is! Plus I ha never seen a cosplay of him before. My mother loved this guy, ahaha.

So overall I had a fun time. I did lose my coyote jaw necklace which sort of bummed me out. The cheesecake on a stick almost made up for it.
No pics of my outfit again, sorry!

Japan Fest!

The local community college (that I used to attend) held their annual Japanese Festival! This was my first year attending. It was quite fun, I went with a work-buddy of mine. The bottom two floors were dedicated to mostly traditional Japanese stuff, and the top floor was oozing with weeaboos where all the anime stuff was, almost like a tiny convention!

One room was full of traditional kimonos and samurai wear. This was by far the prettiest kimono so I took a picture of it. There were also some hina dolls but I failed to get any pics of them.

This was a cool guy playing a cool... thing. Uh... what is it called? It was really awesome, he was super good.

I had a very sad bubble tea. Probably he was upset because he was the worst tasting bubble tea i've ever had. I loooove this stuff oh man, you don't even know. I paid $4 for this and it was quite the disappointment.

...I have no words. Wtf is this, besides the most amazingly bad looking show(?) to ever exist. I really wanted this poster but at $30? Lol no way.

Some how I failed to snap a picture of my outfit, which sucks because it was really cute (BABYssb salon music JSK!)
